I'll be posting again soon, as we head for Emerson's 6 month appointment later this morning, so stay tuned. Nothing else too interesting is going on around here. Just doing life and enjoying it!

State Fair of Texas
Well, for anyone craving some Wiebe pictures, you are in luck. Aunt Penni went with us to the fair, and she snapped pictures like crazy. Uncle Mark met us there as well, so Ellie and Emerson had a great time!

Ellie's Weekend with Daddy
We received really sad news last week. A good friend of ours from Seattle unexpectedly passed from this life into the arms of Jesus. Mike and his wife Kelly were in a small group that we participated in with two other couples. We dove deep and really got to know each other. Even though we kept up primarily through blogs since moving away, we still consider Mike and Kelly great friends. As such, James took Ellie up to Grand Rapids (where they moved a few years ago) for the memorial service. It was a good time of remembering Mike, and James is grateful he was able to go. Please keep Kelly in your prayers as she figures out what life looks like now.
Because Grand Rapids is so close to Detroit, James and Ellie got to go visit Aunt Jenn and Uncle David, Georgie and Baby James, too. Here are some photos from the trip:
Ellie impressed James and me both by sleeping really well on the planes.
Ellie got to visit a Cider Mill with the Brady's.

Georgie was working hard pushing his cousin. (David just looks like he's helping - it's really all Georgie.)
See? Where's Uncle David now, huh?? Poor Georgie. You all do realize that Ellie outweighs Georgie by at least a few pounds, right? The little guy was working hard! :)

Sweet Girls
Not much new to report in Wiebe-land. We're all doing well.
James' practice is picking back up. He's still really enjoying his work and helps lots of people every week. He's getting a lot of clients from outside of the church membership. He has advertising online in some various places people look for counselors and it appears to be paying off!
I'm still getting used to my new work schedule. It's going well, but I've been working a lot. I think this week I finally got it levelled out a little better to where I'm supposed to be. I'm enjoying being back at work, though, and I'm grateful for such a stable job in such uncertain times lately!
Ellie is a complete blast as always. She lies in bed at night and just sings and talks to herself. She sings her ABCs constantly, and she has also added Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to her repertoire. She's definitely in an "I can do it!" phase. She often says "Ellie do it!" It doesn't look like we're too close to potty training just yet. I had hoped for maybe the end of this year, and I suppose there's still time... But, so far she just likes to sit on there for 2 seconds and not do anything. We'll keep showing her the Elmo Potty Time video and hope that strikes a nerve eventually. She definitely keeps us laughing. She was sitting at dinner last week and out of the blue just said "Mmmm. 'Licious!" Silly girl...
Emerson is also doing well. She turned 5 months old last week. She's still a really good sleeper. She goes through the night except for usually 1 pacifier re-insert. I'll admit that we are ready for her to give that up, but we're so blessed that we certainly can't complain. She gives us lots of smiles and is turning over both ways now and pushing up. She likes to sit, but can only do so with help so far. It's only a matter of time, though. She's a big drooler. People keep asking us if she's teething, and nothing yet. I'm hoping we still have a few more weeks before teeth, but you never know!
Here are a few photos until next time....
Those sure are some big feet she has!
Sweet sisters
Our sweet 3 month friend Cole hanging out in a camping chair. "Sitting up? Ya, I got that..."
One other tidbit I neglected to mention above is that our wonderful stupendous fantastic friends Brad and Remy kept our girls last Saturday so that we could attend another wedding. Being the relaxed parents we are, they even took our girls out on a ski boat with our blessing! :) The girls had a blast, and Emerson was looking adorable with Brad's sister Emily.
Ellie was helping me work that day. I had to cut me out, because... "It was inapPROPriate!" *wink wink* (Not really - I just didn't like how I looked in my haven't-had-a-shower-yet state.)
This is what happens if we brush Ellie's hair.
Emerson sleeps in a big girl bed now.
Just kidding! Who believed me? Fess up, now! Here she is all swaddled and ready for her crib!

Suppose it's time for an update!
Well, we're still here! Sorry for such a long hiatus. Much has happened, I suppose!
James had a great time on his mission trip. He wrote a letter with some photos about it. You guys should pressure him to post them.
I returned to work a week after he got back. I'm working 5 days a week now, but half days from home on M/T. It's a big change, but I'm grateful to get to work from home and have more time with my girls.
James Granddad died at the end of August. We had already planned to leave the girls behind overnight (with our friends Brad and Remy) for a wedding. We found out the funeral was the same day as the wedding, so we dropped the girls off earlier and made a quick trip to College Station for the funeral. It was sweet and done well, and it was good to see the family. We were sad to have to leave to quickly.
We made it to Brooke's wedding in Austin on time, thankfully. She did it full of Jewish tradition and it was sweet, beautiful and fun. She threw a great reception party, and James and I even participated in the karoke!
We got back on Labor Day evening to discover that our kids had a fantastic time with Brad and Remy. Thanks so much for staying with them!!!
I left Tuesday for a work trip to Orlando, and James was a single dad the rest of the week. It was busy and stressful for both of us, I think, but all went well. I have one more trip tomorrow and will be home Tuesday night. This time to San Francisco.
We also started another session of FPU at church. James had to do the first night without me on Wednesday night last week. It's hard to do solo, so it will be good that I should be able to make it this week. With that, my work schedule, James' practice and our two sweet girls life is FULL!
Here are a few recent photos, and I'll try to do better about updating! :)
Emerson was dedicated on 8/18.
Isn't that a pretty dress?
