I realized that I wasn’t going to meet my newest nephew until Christmas if we didn’t do something drastic. Jennie suggested I just go visit her on my own. I had been focusing on figuring out a way to get the whole fam up there, and I realized this was a great alternative. We had a great relaxing weekend enjoying the boys and getting in some sister time.

Finger Painting
One of my friends got Emerson some finger paints for her birthday. I admit, I was intimidated, but I broke them out a few weeks ago and the girls had a blast. Emerson wouldn’t wear the smock, so Ellie wore it. How cute are they?
Margie’s 30th
My good friend Margie turned 30 in May, and we had her 30th bday bash at our house. We had a great time with a low key party, and we had a great turnout. Ellie and Madi (which I think I always spell wrong) had a great time playing together. We didn’t do a good job of getting a photo of all the guests. Trust us – they were there. Here are a few highlights:

Kids Say the Darndest Things…
Last night, we went to pick up Mom and Dad from the airport and we went to dinner on the way back. We were sitting at dinner listening to stories about their trip, and there was a lull in the conversation. Ellie then says, “It sure is great to be me!”
Oh goodness – we all got a good laugh out of that one.

Emerson’s 2nd Birthday Party
First of all, I can’t believe my baby turned 2 last week. It really doesn’t seem that long ago that I went from being ticked at her for being 11 days late to elated that I was able to birth her naturally. I’ll always cherish the moment that she came out. It was seriously one of the highlights of my life, and she has been an enormous blessing ever since. I’ll be honest that I’m a little concerned about what her 2nd year will be like. She has an ornery side that is starting to come out, but we’re praying that the sweet heart that she has deep inside will prevail! I was just looking at her tonight as we put her to bed and thinking how beautiful she is – not just externally, although she is that. But she’s just got a beautiful little spirit that I think will be really amazing to watch as it matures.
We did a polka dot theme for her party, and we had a lot of fun with it. Here’s what we did:
We borrowed the lanterns from my good friend Brittney, and James and I spent 3 weeks cutting all those circles on the wall out of poster board.
All of the food was round. We made sandwiches and cut them into circles, grapes, chips and salsa, M&Ms, Oreos and of course the centerpiece which was the cake balls.
We did a full polka dot wall in the dining room for photos, and here’s the girls before the party. Birthday girl refused to smile, but how precious is her outfit?!
We cut out a lot of dots. :)
Look closely – birthday girl is ready for her friends to arrive!
Crouchburger and Quinn worked on their Twister skills.
All of the kids were instructed to come in solid color shirts. Emerson and Ellie used garage sale dots to “dot” them upon arrival. Ellie was the dot police and made sure everyone had the correct color. We had the kids sit down so that sweet Kendall and Emery could be included in the photos without adults, so look closely to see their little dots! You can see that we did not succeed in getting everyone to smile, but I still think they’re all adorable. Quinn and his ladies!
We had each child pick a dot on the Twister mat, and Dad spun the wheel to see who would give Emma her next present. It turned out to be a fun little way to keep the kids from getting bored while Emma opened her presents.
Emerson did a great job of sitting in her chair and opening her gifts. The video below shows how excited she was at each gift. It was pretty cute.
And just two days later it was James’ birthday. Look how cute our brown polka dotted girls were.
Happy Birthday, sweet girl! We love you to pieces!!

Spring Sing
Ellie had a cute little program at her Preschool a couple of weeks ago. She did a great job singing all the songs and doing all the motions. Here’s a little photo and a quick video for you.

Dance Class
We put Ellie in a little dance class at our gym. She LOVED it and was always so excited to go. We’ll have to do it again soon. (And here you are Aunt Jocie – sorry for the delay!)

Easter 2010
Yes, I know this is really late. Let’s just say that Easter Sunday in our house had a few hitches, but we still celebrated the resurrection of Jesus! He is risen! Here are some photos of our sweet girls.
We had an Easter Eggstravaganza at church the day before Easter:
Even Daddy had some fun:
She wanted to be a blue bunny. :)
See how happy we were? At least they were cute.
